The Group uses cashmere fibre from the Erlang Mountain white cashmere goats in the Ulat Front Banner prairie in Bayan Nur, Inner Mongolia. This goat species has been bred under long-term natural grazing conditions in natural grassland. The fine cashmere produced from Erlang Mountain goats is of high yield, good textile properties and stable genetic properties, which is superior to other cashmere. In China, the Erlang Mountain cashmere is well-known as 'Prairie Pearl' and has been praised by textile experts as 'Snow White and King of Fiber' for its light, warm, smooth and elastic nature. The Erlang Mountain goats have evolved a strong adaptability to various kinds of climate conditions, because they have lived in desert, semi-desert and cold areas for a long time.
(1) They can dig in the snow for food in winter. (2) The goats can be herded even in strong winds of force 6-7. (3) They have strong resistance to cold, drought, heat and disease. (4) The mortality rate of lambs is generally no more than 2%. (5) This goat species only lives on grasslands around the Erlang Mountain. The cashmere yield from Erlang Mountain goats is very limited and thus especially precious!
